The Lighthouse for Learning is the Education Web Site for North East Lincolnshire. The aims of this site are to provide information about the Internet, original education material, links to good educational sites and to celebrate success in Education.

We will also use the site to give information about the Education Development Service (N. E. Lincs.). The site has been kept simple so that the pages appear on your computer faster.

The Lighthouse for Learning started life as The Lighthouse for Education in October 1999. From January 2000 until September there were over 20,000 visitors. In November 2000 there were 75,583 hits. By February 2001 it had over 51,000 hits in one week and over 10,000 in one day. The Lighthouse for Education continues to be more and more popular. In May 2002 it received over 1 million hits and in January 2003 1.7 million hits. During the month of October 2003 The Lighthouse receive over 2 million hits. In September 2004 the hits were over 3 million. At the end of 2005 The Lighthouse received over 1 million hits a week!

The original Lighthouse was created by Rupert Collins and after working with a focus group for the new site Rupert Collins returned to create this. It is currently managed by North East Lincolnshire Children's Services.
