Training for each designated EVC for every school, youth service area etc.

This one day DCSF approved and certificated course, covers the management checks
and procedures required by DCSF and each Local Authority/Employer.

The training programme has been produced in conjunction with members of the Panel who were involved in producing draft guidance for the DfES, on Standards for LEAs in Overseeing Educational Visits and Standards for Adventure, between September 2001 and March 2002. The guidance was designed to complement the DfES publication "Health and Safety of Pupils on Educational Visits" (HASPEV) produced by the DfES in 1998.

The training programme is overseen and endorsed by the OEAP. It is training designed primarily for LAs and their employees, and managed through LAs.

The training is theory based in a classroom setting using PowerPoint presentations and discussion groups.

Each course lasts for one day e.g. 6 hours. Lunch and drinks will be provided.
